Hello, my name is Captain Raven. My current profession is captain of the Midnight
Raven. I am a lady pirate.
I did
not start out in this profession, but unfortunate circumstances
forced my hand. I was born York, England on the Channel. My father
was a wealthy Duke under King Edward, The Confessor. During King
William’s reign I enjoyed all the privileges of Royalty. Father
often took me sailing with him and I learned a great love of the
sea.
When
King William died father felt it was his king’s wish to have Harold
Godwinson on the throne and alas my father threw his lot in with
Harold, it was a mistake that would cost father everything.
We
knew the first taste of defeat when Hardrada of Norway struck and
captured our city. We were able to rally some what after that, but
there was no escaping William, Duke of Normandy. My father lost
everything including his life.
I was
forced into the streets at the tender age of 11. I would have
staved if a pirate captain had not taken pity on me and kept me with
him as his “cabin boy.” I spent years in the company of pirates and
treated as a favored daughter of Captain Morgan Red. When Captain
Red was grievously wounded he gave his beloved ship to me.
I
sail her proudly today.
